PEEKING IN
stationery seen on 'the dailystroll' inspires nursery for 2!

"Cocoa and pumpkin have
invaded our lives" states the sekund mag reader who designed
a shared room for her 2 kids::
Sterling (age 3) and Sheridan (5 months)...
We did not know the sex of either of our bundles of joys. Having outfitted the first nursery in a sea of green gingham and yellow chenille, then forced out of the cute beach bungalow I brought my son home to pursue our next real estate investment; I was too emotional to resurrect the "neutral"
baby bedding that I spent way too much on with the argument "it's neutral, I can use it with all the kids. It is definitely worth all that money."
The house we recently moved into has a much more modern/Brady bunch feel that definitely did not support the gingham and chenille. The room sharing is only temporary during construction and after the investment in the last
bedding set, I wanted to do create the space on a smaller budget. I was
deeply inspired by dwell's dot collection and by the color of the stationary recommended by "The
DailyStroll" &
Couture Invito. Cocoa and
Pumpkin officially has invaded our world. The DOTS on the
wall were painted by myself - I some how managed to fail the
simple geometry I attempted and there is a slight gap behind
the door, oh well. The valances are antique lace
handkerchief and bureau covers, from my grandmother. The
"picture" above the bed in a old window from the first house
my husband I re-did together, an old 1918 craftsman style
bungalow, that I painted. The "mobile" is an idea I saw in
Parenting magazine and consists of pom poms, ribbons, and a needle point frame. The initials are fabric applied to a painted canvas, thanks to a Martha Stewart Kids idea. Due to the tight space we hid the changing table in the closet and installed a light in there, which has worked out much better than I expected, my husband's idea, of course.
