PEEKING IN
Elkė's shared nursery guest room
Below is our own Elkė's nursery. It is also the guest room.
Overnight guests are pretty rare but in this 1939 Tudor
there are only 3 bedrooms so the baby gets the biggest one
but has to share with a queen size bed. Not pictured is a
4ft long dresser that extends out from the end of the bed
which is where diapers are changed and clothing is stored.
It all works out nicely and the big bed is great for when
mommy needs to crash with a teething baby for the night.
When guests come to stay we simply put the baby in the
portable crib in our room. We could have had Elkė and Ruby
share a room, true, but Ruby already had a perfect pink room
of her own and so in April 07 when we found out that we were
definitely having another girl I got started on decorating
and picking things out to make the perfect room for the baby
(and the occasional in-law stay). Not too babyish, not to
grown up- and she smiles every time she is in there.
